Situated between Dundee and Aberdeen and only a stone’s throw from the A90, Brechin Castle Equestrian provides a focal point for equestrian sport in east Scotland.

Excellent facilities and a committed team of teaching and stable management staff ensure a memorable equestrian experience for everyone from seasoned competitors to complete beginners as well as the best accommodation and care for your own horse or pony.

Brechin Castle Equestrian is one of the largest Pony Club centres in the UK and is approved by both the British Horse Society and the Trekking and Riding Society of Scotland so that all clients can be assured of a high standard of teaching and horse care.

Instruction can be tailored to suit riders of all ages, abilities and ambitions in private lessons or small classes held in our spacious, all-weather school. Accompanied hacking can be arranged for everyone from tiny tots to experienced adults.

The more competitive rider may wish to tackle our superb cross country course originally designed by Capt. Mark Phillips as well as the JumpCross course both of which are constantly upgraded by course builder Ian Christie to provide a safe but testing challenge. The extensive show field and show jumping arena complete with championship level show jumps can also be hired by individuals, riding clubs and groups of all equestrian disciplines.

Full, part, grass and working livery options under the direct supervision of our Stable Manager provide a service to suit everyone’s pocket. Horses are accommodated in Loddon boxes within the main building and turned out daily onto well-managed pasture.
